About Us

For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we’ve seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.

Together with our millions of supporters, the American Cancer Society saves lives by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against cancer.

Helping you stay well

We help you take steps to prevent cancer or find it at its earliest, most treatable stage.

Helping you get well

We’re in your corner around the clock to help you through every step of your cancer experience.

Finding cures

We fund and conduct research that helps us better understand, prevent, and find cures for cancer.

Fighting back

We work with lawmakers to pass laws to defeat cancer and rally communities worldwide to join the fight.
